The team at Sarasota Plastic Surgery Center has decades of combined experience. Although each member is highly trained on a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery procedures, they also each have their specialties and interests. Braun H. Graham, M.D., FACS, earned his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine before completing his internship and general and plastic surgery residencies at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He and his family have made Sarasota their home since 1985. He is the president of the Sarasota Plastic Surgery Center and serves as president of the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is also the upcoming president of the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. Dr. Graham specializes in cosmetic surgery of the face and breasts. He is certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons® and The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

With more than 25 years of experience, James H. Schmidt, M.D., FACS, earned his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin and completed his internship, general surgery residency, and plastic surgery residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Then, he completed fellowship training in Texas in cleft lip, cleft palate, and maxillofacial surgery. He is certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery.

His practice is limited to cosmetic surgery of the face and body. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery, the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons, in addition to several other local and regional medical organizations. He is a co-clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Florida. Dr. Schmidt has also done mission work in Honduras repairing cleft lip and palate deformities in children.

David L. Mobley, M.D., FACS, is well known for creating dramatic surgical improvements while maintaining a natural appearance. Sarasota physicians have repeatedly voted him “Top Doctor” in plastic surgery in Castle Connolly’s Americas Top Doctors each year since 2007. Dr. Mobley is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a member of the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Mobley specializes in cosmetic surgery of the face and breast including facelifts, fat grafting, eyelid surgery, advanced mini-lifts, fractional laser, dermal fillers, BOTOX® Cosmetic, breast augmentation, and breast lifts. He has written extensively on the perils of choosing unqualified non-plastic surgeons for cosmetic surgery.

Scott J. Engel, M.D. FACS is certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers College in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then completed his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Engel completed an additional fellowship in aesthetic surgery at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He holds an academic appointment as adjunct clinical faculty in the Department of Plastic Surgery at The Cleveland Clinic and is a clinical assistant professor of plastic surgery at the Florida State University College of Medicine. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Sarasota County Medical Society. Dr. Engel’s practice includes all aspects of cosmetic surgery including facelifts, rhinoplasty, breast and body contouring, and fat injections.
